Overview
The Voice Design Lab lets you create unique AI voices for your business. Instead of choosing from preset voices, you can either describe the voice you want or clone an existing voice from a recording.
Custom voices are available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
Designing a Voice from a Description
- Go to Voice & AI > Voice Design Lab.
- Click Design a Voice.
- Describe the voice you want in natural language. Be as specific as possible:
- Good: "A warm, friendly female voice with a slight Caribbean accent, speaking at a moderate pace with a professional but approachable tone."
- Too vague: "A nice voice."
- Choose a provider: AIVO (default) or Minimax.
- Click Generate.
- Listen to the preview. If you like it, click Save. If not, adjust your description and regenerate.
Tips for Good Descriptions
- Mention gender, age range, accent, and tone.
- Describe the speaking pace (slow, moderate, fast).
- Reference emotional qualities (warm, authoritative, energetic, calm).
- Mention the context: "for a medical clinic receptionist" helps the AI understand the appropriate register.
Cloning a Voice from Audio
- Go to Voice & AI > Voice Design Lab.
- Click Clone a Voice.
- Upload a clear audio recording of the voice you want to clone:
- Format: MP3 or WAV
- Length: At least 30 seconds of clear speech (60+ seconds recommended)
- Quality: Minimal background noise, single speaker only
- Enter a name for the voice.
- Choose a provider: AIVO (default) or Minimax.
- Click Clone.
- Listen to the preview and save if satisfied.
Audio Recording Tips
- Record in a quiet room with no echo.
- Speak naturally at a normal pace.
- Include a variety of sentences (questions, statements, greetings).
- Avoid music or background noise.
Important: Only clone voices you have permission to use. Do not clone voices of public figures or other people without their explicit consent.

- In the voice library, your custom voices appear under the Custom tab.
